North Street Store

What started as a humble Cottesloe corner store has grown into a local institution — bakery, café, general store and home to their famous cinnamon scrolls.

When the old façade was stripped back, the words “North Street Store” appeared in a beautifully classic serif — the perfect inspiration for the brand’s vintage look and feel. The identity leans into the charm of an old-fashioned general store, with bold, timeless typography and friendly hand-painted signage that Bruno Booth and I painted ourselves.

Cartoony illustrations by Bruno add a playful touch, balancing nostalgia with a bit of fun. The “Hot Bread” mark became a signature element across packaging, merch and menus — and has since gone on to become a calling card for all of Lachie and Craig’s venues.
